Manastirliu inspects the works at the “Mbretëresha Geraldinë” Maternity Hospital: It will be completed within the year, almost the second phase of the investment

Tirana, August 2 – “The new building in the ‘Mbretëresha Geraldinë’ maternity hospital will be completed this year, which foresees an increase in capacities in terms of emergency services, the women’s center and operating rooms, delivery and resuscitation rooms, which will to ensure European standards” – announced the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, during the inspection of the works for the reconstruction and expansion of the capacities of the “Mbretëresha Geraldinë” Maternity Hospital.

Minister Manastirliu also emphasized the investment in medical equipment, which will guarantee a new service standard for mothers and children.

“It is a structure, which will not only improve the service, but will take the care of babies, mothers and pregnant women to a higher level and will also allow the staff to perform with the best biomedical equipment, because we will have a new investment in the operating rooms with all the equipment of the renovated rooms and also in terms of child care in the resuscitation of babies, we will have new investments, in terms of equipment, starting with neonatal incubators , and all those aspects that belong to an even higher care, with modern equipment and technology in terms of newborns. “Mbretëresha Geraldinë” will have another major investment within this year, because we have planned to have an investment in the main building, that of the central body of this hospital”, said Manastirliu.

With the project for the reconstruction and expansion of the “Mbretëresha Geraldinë” maternity hospital, three plans are being intervened: New building with 3 floors and an underground floor; The complete reconstruction of the historical building, which will preserve the details of the unique architecture in its facade but also in the interior spaces of this building, as well as the expansion of the existing facility of Obsetrika. This investment is a large construction site of over 6,000 square meters, where the main part is occupied by the new building, which includes laboratory, imaging, emergency services, the Women’s Center as well as the two services of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
