July 18, Shkodër – The Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu, within the framework of the implementation of the Plan of measures to cope with the heat, has inspected one of the open points for medical assistance for citizens who will need it in the Pedonalen of Shkodra.
“Within the plan of coordinated measures with all the institutions we are working with, whether with the Military Medical Unit, the National Medical Emergency Center, the Health Care Operator and also with the Institute of Public Health, we are engaged in terms of the wave of the heat, where this week is considered one of the hottest weeks, so 9 Mobile Units are in the territory, with doctors, nurses, they are positioned in the city centers, starting from Tirana with 4 units in the territory, also in Shkodër , Berat, Durrës, Gjirokastër, Elbasan and in the coastal areas where the emergency structures are already in the territory since June 15. These emergency structures located in the center of cities where the flow of tourists and vacationers is high, we have a guarantee that we can provide health care on time”, said Manastirliu.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection has implemented the Plan of measures against the heat wave, in coordination with the Institute of Public Health, the Operator of Health Care Services, the National Center of Medical Emergencies and the Medical Unit of the Army.

The plan of measures to cope with the heat wave includes: Placing nine ambulances on standby in high-traffic areas in city centers to assist in emergency cases. Also in the primary service, pediatric emergencies are in operation 24/7 in four centers in Tirana. While 30 summer health centers have been opened in coastal and mountain areas.
