Investment begins in the Polyclinic of Shkodra, Manastirliu: the hospital is ready for managerial autonomy, opening the way for double practices for doctors
July 19, Shkodër – The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, has inspected the works for the rehabilitation of the Polyclinic of Specialties at the Shkodër Regional Hospital, which will be completed within this year, to provide contemporary standards and more outpatient services for the citizens.
“In Shkodër we have just launched a new investment, the rehabilitation of the hospital’s polyclinic, which provides services to about 50 thousand citizens per year and also performs a series of laboratory and imaging examinations for the entire outpatient system. In addition to the Shkodra Polyclinic, we have started investing in the Elbasan polyclinic, and within this year we will also start investing in the Durrës polyclinic, in order to complete a cycle of investments in the structures of the largest polyclinics and hospitals in the country”, said Minister Manastirliu.
As he assessed the medical teams of Shkodër Regional Hospital, Manastirliu said that this hospital will be equipped after the completion of the procedures, with the managerial autonomy card, thus paving the way for double practices for doctors.

“The next step is the entry into managerial autonomy and all the preparation you have done and with the help of the managers coming from Turkey, to ensure that the hospital management strategy on a three-year basis and the hospital management protocols and all the administration that you have within the hospital with your qualified staff, make it possible for us to take this safe step towards what we want. Therefore, I am convinced that Shkodra will be one of the hospitals that will complete the first phase of the application and towards managerial autonomy in a very fast time, so that we can then pave the way for another mechanism, which is the practice mechanism double, to guarantee a great support for doctors, but also to give the opportunity to citizens to receive services with certain doctors, according to their wishes,” said Minister Manastirliu.

The reconstruction of the Specialty Polyclinic of the Shkodër Regional Hospital is an investment by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, which will enable a new organization with 13 medical cabinets, with 13 different specialties of internal diseases and ancillary services, which will to serve you about 50 thousand citizens. Also, the rehabilitation program of health care structures includes the modernization of the Polyclinics of Elbasan, Durrës and Dibra.
