Ministry of Health and Social Welfare

The Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Evis Sala, paid a visit to the Catholic Hospital “Our Lady of Good Counsel” in Tirana, which will cooperate with the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital (OPBG) in Rome through the development and implementation of the project “Child Development Center” in Albania.

This cooperation aims to introduce advanced models of pediatric care in Albania by strengthening national capacities in diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and multidisciplinary follow-up for children with developmental and health needs.

To this end, a dedicated conference was held on the hospital premises, where, in her address, Minister Sala highlighted the importance of such partnerships and emphasized that the public health sector remains open to initiatives that bring medical excellence to the country.

“The Albanian government welcomes partnerships of this nature, including with public healthcare institutions, with the aim of introducing medical excellence in the fields of professional training, healthcare service delivery, and scientific research in pediatrics,” Minister Sala stated.

She further underlined that such collaborations have a direct impact on improving the quality of services and reducing the need for children to seek medical treatment abroad.

The establishment of medical centers of excellence in Albania is a clear indicator of the commitment to sustainable improvements in the quality of care for children and their families, both in Albania and across the region.
