Ministry of Health and Social Welfare

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Prof. Evis Sala, participated in WHX Dubai 2026 (World Health Expo), one of the most significant global forums dedicated to healthcare and innovation, convening professionals, institutions, and industry leaders from across the world.

During the event, Minister Sala presented Albania’s progress in digital health transformation, underscoring the country’s transition from a predominantly paper-based system to comprehensive national digital platforms currently utilized on a daily basis by physicians and healthcare institutions nationwide.

She emphasized that, notwithstanding the considerable progress achieved, the key challenge remains the integration of systems to ensure seamless health information exchange, prevent unnecessary duplication, and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare professionals. Such integration will primarily benefit doctors, nurses, and patients.

The Minister further stressed that technology holds value only when it tangibly improves patient care, adding that Albania’s next strategic step is the development of interconnected, secure, and trustworthy systems fully aligned with European standards.

WHX Dubai, formerly known as Arab Health, has served for over 50 years as a reference point for the global healthcare industry.
