Ms. Ina Majko

Deputy Minister of Health and Social Welfare

Ms. Ina Majko was appointed Deputy Minister of Health and Social Welfare in July 2025.
She leads national cross-sectoral policies on social inclusion, focusing on equal access to services,
empowerment of marginalized groups, and reducing inequalities through intersectoral partnerships and evidence-based policymaking.


Education

With an academic background that bridges natural sciences and public policy,
Ina earned her Master of Science in Environmental Sciences and Policy from Central European University (CEU), Budapest, in 2019,
and her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Tirana in 2016.
She is also an alumna of CEU’s Roma Graduate Preparation Program (RGPP), designed to develop future leaders in social justice.


Professional Experience

  • Worked as a copywriter at Tring Communications (2022–2025) and previously at PIK Agency (2020–2022),
    developing creative campaigns and strategic communications for well-known brands and institutions.
    In parallel, she has been the author and host of the radio show “Proud Roma” on Radio Tirana (RTSH) since 2023,
    a weekly program dedicated to the history, culture, and identity of the Roma community in Albania.
  • In the field of research and social policy, she has collaborated with organizations such as
    the European Network on Statelessness (ENS) in London (2021),
    the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) (2020),
    the Institute for Environmental Policy (2019–2020), and the OSCE (2014–2015),
    contributing to studies on environmental justice, gender equality, and child protection.
  • Her experience also includes serving as Project Manager and Coordinator at Roma Active Albania (2013–2017),
    where she led initiatives on Roma community empowerment and youth participation in decision-making.
